Trans and Gender-Diverse Allyship Trainings

This training, intended for organizations and businesses, is intended to be between 2 and 3 hours long, and may vary depending on the size and specific needs of the group.

This workshop involves an educational talk blended with group discussion, visual aids, self-reflection exercises, and written resources to explore a variety of topics centering around the experiences of transgender and gender-variant people in public life.

The goal of this workshop is to equip participants with a comprehensive understanding of trans and gender-variant histories, identities, experiences, struggles. We will explore stereotypes and institutional barriers experienced by gender-variant people in our society, and how we can challenge ourselves and each other to create environments that are equitable and accessible to people of all gender experiences. Participants will be encouraged towards a better understanding of gender as an institution, and empowered to move beyond tolerance towards a position of effective allyship and collaboration with their transgender peers.

The cost for this training is negotiated based on the needs of your organization and number of participants.

Due to COVID-19 these workshops are currently being hosted online over Zoom.

“Lane Patriquin is a highly effective and engaging facilitator. Their transgender allyship workshop was thought-provoking and very informative; we all left the presentation with new insight and understanding. I would recommend their services to anyone looking to learn about transgender issues or develop better inclusivity towards trans and gender-variant people in their organization.”

“I would highly recommend Lane’s session for many workplaces.  Lane created a safe space in which to explore topics many cisgender people have questions about, but may be unsure asking.  Lane offered us concrete ideas to create an inclusive agency for trans and non binary people.  This workshop is reasonably priced and the knowledge is a great asset for our team.”
